About Youth Voices KE
Your Voice Shapes Kenya's Future.
Our Core Purpose
Our Mission
To empower Kenya's youth to shape public policy and community action by providing a simple, open, and credible platform where they can propose practical and actionable solutions to the challenges they face and ensure these solutions reach the relevant stakeholders with transparency and accountability.
Our Vision
A Kenya where youth ideas directly influence decision-making, drive innovation, and lead measurable change in government, communities, and institutions; a country where young people are not just heard, but their solutions guide the nation's future.
The Foundation
Youth Voices KE is a civic-tech platform built by young people, for young people, rooted in the belief that Kenya's youth hold real, practical solutions to the country's most persistent challenges.
While many platforms ask youth to describe their problems, we flip the script: we already know the challenges from data and research; what the youth need now is solutions. Our platform removes the barriers that often hinder meaningful youth participation: no registration, no sign-up walls, no bureaucracy.
At Youth Voices KE, we ensure youth participation is substantive, not symbolic. We foster a community where ideas mature into policies, policies push institutions, and institutions become accountable to the youth they serve.
Our 6-Step Policy Cycle [Image of Policy Cycle Diagram]
Transparency is key. Here is how your solution moves from an idea to a trackable policy document.
1. Challenge Identification
Experts and youth leaders define critical policy gaps in governance, economy, and social well-being.
2. Solution Submission
Youth submit innovative solutions through our platform. All raw ideas are reviewed by a vetting committee.
Submit Idea →3. Shortlisting & Voting
The best solutions are shortlisted based on Feasibility, Relevance, and Impact, and the public votes to prioritize ideas.
Start Voting →4. Policy Brief Formulation
The top-voted solutions are synthesized into concise, formal policy briefs, ready for government submission.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
Briefs are formally delivered to relevant government Ministries and County Governments for acknowledgment.
6. Tracking & Implementation
We continuously track the status of acknowledged briefs until they are formally reviewed and implemented.
